Among Colors

Apr 26 - May 05 2025

YUANJIA x THE BLANC

YUANJIA was founded in 2010 by dressmaker and writer Ning Buyuan, along with friends from a village in Sichuan, China. Rooted in the belief in “ordinary beauty,” the brand creates everyday clothing that reflects a harmonious connection between people, garments, and the Earth. A signature of YUANJIA’s practice is plant dyeing—a slow, hands-on process using natural materials like herbs and fruits to infuse fabric with the rhythms of nature and time. Each piece is unique, shaped by climate and season. For this special New York exhibition, YUANJIA debuts a new indigo-dyed series, continuing its exploration of tradition, craft, and the material poetry of daily life.

Curation Team

Accent Sisters Team

Accent Accent was founded in 2018 in New York. As a transnational, bilingual, and cross-media cultural platform, it brings together a book-store, an independent press, an art space, and a creative consultancy. Operating through a fluid, community-driven model, Accent Accent connects Chinese and Asian creators to the wider world, and is dedicated to fostering dialogue, imagination, and cultural exchange beyond borders. As a curatorial team, we have organized exhibitions, book launches, book fairs, film festivals, and cross-disciplinary programs that respond to contemporary realities through an alternative, subcultural, and institutionally critical—but always playful—lens. The realization of Among Colors reflects this spirit and was made possible through the thoughtful collaboration of our team, including Jiaoyang Li, Na Zhong, Gao Hui (Display and Spatial Design), Serena Wang (Research and Project Management), Jie Shao (Installation) among others.
