Improv Night: Poetry, Music, and Clothes
May 04 2025
YUANJIA x THE BLANC

As evening falls, the lecture hall transforms into a runway. Writers, poets, and artists—joined by their families—step into twilight not with scripts, but through movement. Draped in YUANJIA’ s signature plant-dyed garments, each stride becomes a stanza, each silhouette a living page. This is a fashion show composed in verse—a celebration of the everyday body and the untamed soul that insists on creating freely, tenderly, across all borders.
The event marks the New York debut of YUANJIA’ s signature designs. Readings by Xu Zhiyuan, Na Zhong, Shangyang Fang, and others are interwoven with live cello and piano improvisations by the Qingsong Ensemble, featuring Jia Wei, Dai Wei, and Sandro Sidamonidze. Walking models include Coco, Tingying Ma, Mushroom, Beike, Sayoni Nyakoon, and more.
This is a performance experiment in presence—where fashion walks with philosophy, and poetry and spring are worn like a second skin. Music grows underfoot like wild grass and ancient herbs: tender, resilient, and alive. Join us for a night where garments carry memory and time, and walking becomes a form of chanting, of returning.
