Becoming Other
A mesmerizing audio-visual performance that features electronic pipa and live video jockeying.

The opening reception of Becoming Other was marked by a mesmerizing audio-visual performance that captivated the audience. Singer-songwriter and boundary-pushing pipa player Runyu Qian, alongside visual artist Yiou Wang, created an immersive experience that blurred the lines between music, fashion, and digital art. Runyu performed in Mask Butterfly, while Yiou wore Mask Fleur du Mal—both sculptural pieces were intricately designed and 3D printed by Yiou as part of her fantastical “Water” world. The performance transported viewers into an ethereal realm where sound and form moved in delicate synchronicity, setting a poetic tone for the evening.
