About the Exhibition
Together with Ikenobo California Pacific Chapter, theBLANC is thrilled to present our first episode of BlancAtelier — "Dreams of Summer". This immersive exhibition sets in the heart of mid-town Manhattan at theBLANC Gallery. Curated by the esteemed practitioners from the Ikenobo California Pacific Chapter, "Dreams of Summer" captures the exquisite beauty of this traditional Japanese art form, while celebrating the vibrant anticipation of the approaching summer season.
Ikenobo Ikebana, dating back over 560 years, expresses life's different stages through its focus on nature. "Dreams of Summer" encapsulates this, presenting arrangements that echo life's ephemeral yet timeless essence.
This exhibition features acclaimed styles such as the grand Rikka, naturalistic Shoka, and expressive Freestyle. Each arrangement showcases summer aspirations, the artists' hands weaving their reverence for nature into each creation.
"Dreams of Summer" pays tribute to the Ikenobo masters, inviting you to observe the blooming of summer dreams and the cultivation of personal growth. Every arrangement is a dream realized, each petal a whisper of the upcoming summer.
Together, theBLANC and Ikenobo California Pacific Chapter aim to evoke anticipation for summer's promise and acceptance of life's impermanence through this unique exhibition. Enjoy this extraordinary journey into the art and philosophy of Ikebana.
